“The Greys Lochstyle Team Championships”
In 2024 we proudly hosted the first-ever Greys Lochstyle Team Championship on August 31st and September 1st at the Lake of Menteith in Scotland. Some record catches were made and over the two days 948 fish were caught by the competitors with an average weight of fished retained at over 4lb!
We received an overwhelming number of applications and whilst we couldn’t accommodate every team, we were thrilled to welcome teams from across the UK in the form of a ballot draw.
Seventeen teams of four anglers competed in the two-day final at a time of year that often provides exceptional top-of-the-water fishing at the Lake.
The competition was fished to International fly fishing rules, with the winning team determined by the largest combined catch over the two days. Anglers bag weights included one retained fish with additional catches released and awarded 2 lbs per fish to their bag.
As the official sponsor, we are committed to supporting the competition community. Anglers have no entry fee to pay for the final and only cover their fishing permit which is paid directly to Lake of Menteith. We will once again have a huge cashpot prize table, a BBQ on both Saturday and Sunday evening by the Lake of Mentieth Hotel where last year teams enjoyed debriefing and sharing stories of their day’s fishing.
